On behalf of its membership, PAAT works with the Texas Ethics Commission and the State Legislature to improve understanding and compliance with the law relating to lobbying in Texas while raising the ethical bar for the lobby profession and for governmental affairs practices overall.
While some of the ethics laws are very clear - others are up to interpretation and may require further discussions with Ethics Commissioners and staff. Helpful resources for understanding the Texas lobby laws include:
